Golden History of Ajmer
The city of Ajmer was established by Raja Ajaypal Chauhan, a ruler from the Chauhan dynasty. For a long time, the Chauhan dynasty ruled this city and also constructed some majestic monuments. One such example is the Taragarh Fort in Ajmer. Taragarh Fort was the first hill fort in India. After Mohammed Ghori defeated Prithviraj Chauhan, a number of dynasties ruled Ajmer. The most famous tourist attraction Ajmer Sharif Dargah was the reason Mughals were attracted towards Ajmer. During the British reign, the city of Ajmer was handed over to the British and it was the only state of Rajputs that was controlled by the British.
